Application #5. Recent scaling study on ORNL XK6 system
Recent scaling results on the XK6 system at Oak Ridge National Labs. Several grid sizes shown, with grid point counts in parenthesis. Largest case is a grid based on one of the wing-body geometries from the 3rd AIAA Drag Prediction Workshop, containing 918 million nodes and 5.5 billion elements. For this case, FUN3D scales to 97% efficiency at 20,000 cores and 80% efficiency at 40,000 cores.
